OraMetrix Secures $25 Million in Fifth Round of Financing

Funding to accelerate broader market adoption

Richardson, Texas, May 13, 2005 -- OraMetrix, Inc., a provider of innovative 3-D technology solutions facilitating and improving the quality of orthodontic care, today announced it has completed its fifth round of financing for $25 million including conversion of $7 million of bridge debt into equity and $18 million in new investment. With this round, the company has raised $90.5 million to-date.

"OraMetrix has successfully migrated from a development stage company to a commercial entity," stated Chuck Abraham, Chief Executive Officer and President of OraMetrix. "This capital gives us the springboard for broader market penetration and wide-spread adoption of our product."

This round was lead by Rho Ventures and includes investments by Brentwood Ventures, Star Ventures and IBB. The round also introduces a new investor -- Versant Ventures.

OraMetrix introduced its commercial product, SureSmile, in late 2002. At the end of the 1st quarter of 2005, OraMetrix had 45 installed customer sites and over 2,500 patients under SureSmile care.
